BG Christopher Spillman

Commanding General 32nd AAMDC

Brigadier General Christopher L. Spillman assumed command of the 32d Army Air and Missile Defense Command in June 2016. He is a 1985 ROTC Distinguished Military Graduate from California State Uni-versity, San Bernardino. He has served in a variety of command and staff assignments both in the continental United States and overseas.

Brigadier General Spillman’s assignments include service as a Stinger and Vulcan platoon leader in Germany, Vulcan Battery Commander and later Battalion Executive Officer while assigned to 1st Infantry Division at Fort Riley, Kansas, and Kitzingen, Germany. BG Spillman also commanded 5-5 ADA while assigned to 2d Infantry Division in South Korea and subsequently com-manded the 108th ADA Brigade at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He has served as the Assistant Commandant of the Air Defense Artillery School and as the Director of the Fires Division, Army G8 Force Development. BG Spillman also served as the deputy J5 for the United States Forces Korea and Combined Forces Command. Most recently, Brigadier General Spillman served as the 40th Commandant of the U.S. Army Air Defense Artillery School and as the Chief of Air Defense Artil-lery.

Brigadier General Spillman is a graduate of the Army Command and General Staff College and the United States Air Force Air War College. His operational deployments include Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, Operation Joint Guardian in Macedonia, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.

Brigadier General Spillman’s awards include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Com-mendation Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Southwest Asia Ser-vice Medal, Kuwait Liberation Medal, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Kuwait Liberation Medal, NATO Medal, Kosovo Medal, Korean Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal and he has earned the US Army Parachutist Badge, and the airborne badges of Germany and Canada.
